Sometimes hazardous waste accumulation gets out of hand. Old waste stored so long its identity has been lost in many cases. Leaking drums, or no containment at all. Allegheny is prepared to come into situations like this and make order and compliance out of hazards and confusion. Drums are tested and characterized by field chemists, containers replaced or overpacked when needed, all paperwork and regulatory matters attended to, and waste shipped by fully permitted and insured transporters to fully permitted and insured treatment facilities. Allegheny provides turnkey service.
Allegheny Environmental provides underground tank removal, cleaning, and remediation services in upstate New York and Pennsylvania. We provide a turnkey service including testing, removal, transportation, site remediation when required, and fully permitted disposal of any contaminated soil (along with the tanks, themselves).
After a preliminary survey and test on the area, the
heavy equipment crew is brought in to effect removal. During the process care is
taken, even with "empty" tanks to prevent any new soil contamination.
Such tank projects often involve fuel tanks at gasoline stations, industrial sites, and, in the case pictured, a large apartment complex.
Allegheny also provides tank removal and remediation where for chemical storage tanks.
Our turnkey service can include cleaning the removed tank and cutting it up for
shipment, scrap, or disposal.
On this site, two empty oil tanks were cut up with torches on site for transport and disposal.
After tank removal remaining soil is tested for contamination.
Small amounts of contaminated soil may be then placed in drums for shipment off-site and fully permitted treatment/disposal.
Here, an Allegheny field chemist is at the site to take samples and determine the extent of contamination.
All waste shipped off site is fully documented according to environmental regulations.
Allegheny can arrange to clean out a wide assortment of
inside tank, also.
Examples are cleaning tanks for parts, plating tanks, storage tank, waste tanks.
We can also provide for the proper disposal of old tanks including the removal of contents and proper disposal of all hazarous waste.
All work on site is done by an experienced crew with 40-hour OSHA Hazardous Materials training, updated yearly.
