Stockbridge
On Retreat In The Berkshires
With God & Norman Rockwell

Famed American artist Norman Rockwell said, "I just love Stockbridge,  I mean, Stockbridge is the best of America, the best of New England."  This is the town in which Rockwell maintained his studio in his most productive years and the source of inspiration for his paintings of Americana. Our Allegheny field chemist, when learning he'd be coming here declared, "This is not a work assignment --- this is a vacation!"  His pictures around town show why this is a wonderful retreat from anywhere and most anything.

For most who stay here, indulge here, and reminisce on this grand porch, working days are over.  It's nice.  But for the working man, given just a day to inhabit here, this seems like a near but short glimpse of Heaven-On-Earth!  The newcomer is welcomed to the late afternoon cocktail hour on the porch with polite questions  and chit-chat:  "Oh, yes, young man, 'environmental work.'---How lovely that you care!  But do you get dirty out there doing all that ground work?"

A Little Bit Of Eden...
The National Shrine Of The Divine Mercy

Set against the panoramic sweep of the Berkshire Hills, this Old World Shrine is set on acres of beautifully landscaped land atop Eden Hill, just north of Stockbridge.  All are welcome to come here for retreat and reflection, worship and wonder.

And what was Allegheny Environmental Services, Inc., the Hazardous Waste...Environmental Clean-Up...and Hazardous Materials Training Company doing in a pristine wonderland as this?  You'd be surprised!  But none in Stockbridge were because they never saw us work.  Discrete, clean, and confidential.  Keeping environmental treasures such as the Berkshire section of Western Massachusetts in shape for generations to come keeps Allegheny busy in New York, Pennsylvania, and bordering states year around.  It's work that makes us (and others) happy.
