Last year the Lockport Rotary Club offered a collection of Lockport photographs on a calendar. This year the subject of the calendar is the work by area artists of scenes around Lockport and Eastern Niagara County. The calendars are on sale at numerous locations in the Lockport area for $10.
One member of the club is offering the calendars via mail order. Send along an extra $2.50 to cover shipping to Kathleen Ganz 5666 Leete Road Lockport, NY 14094 and a calendar will be mailed to you. That's a total of $12.50/calendar. Make your check payable to Kathleen Ganz. All proceeds are to benefit the local food pantries. The cover painting is by Niagara County artist, Kathleen S. Giles. Several of her outstanding works are included in the calendar including a painting of the Kenan Home on Locust Street, the way we like to remember it. To view that work, go to our William Rand Kenan Jr. Page.
The calendar includes one large, approximate 8-1/2 by 12-inch color photo reproduction of an Eastern Niagara County scene for each month of the year. The view page hangs above the calendar month date page which takes up an equal space in the usual layout. The printing is on good quality glossy stock. Artists, whose works are included, besides Ms. Giles, are Anne Rohring, Joe Whalen, Bill Storrs, and Manning McCandlish.
