    Minerals found in the Lockport area are all found in rock of sedimentary origin.  Using Lockport as a center and going out about fifty miles on the area shown on the map below one can find in rock sedimentary mineral crystals that are among the finest of their type in the world.  The map shows the approximate limits of mineralized rock strata in this area.
