The Lockport Town and Country Club golf course just north of Route 31 at the Eastern entrance to the City of Lockport is greened up and ready to go for the season. And the trees and shrubs are showing more green every day. All that was missing in this picture taken mid-day Saturday, 5/6 were golfers! What are they waiting for? The final snowbirds to return from Florida? Yes, there were a few groups out on the course but participation was light on a day of excellent weather for golfing (sunny skies, dry ground, and temperatures in the high 70's). No waiting on this day! The camera is looking west from the Cold Springs Road border of the course. The LTCC clubhouse is straight ahead.

Lockport Town & Country Club painting by Joe Whalen is featured for the month of February in the Lockport Rotary Club 2001 Art Calendar.
It's about the same view angle but that's about all that is the same.
Sliding around on the hills at the Country Club has been a favorite activity of Lockport youth for a couple generations. The property is posted with "warning signs" and "no trespass" notices are placed in the newspaper each year, apparently to lessen the legal liability of the Country Club for such activity. Any bans never appear to be enforced.
