Lockport Charity Walkaton
Honors Barbara Ennis...Raises Money For Cancer Fight

Hundreds turned out Saturday, 7/8 for the "Circle of Friends Walkathon" in memory of Barbara Ennis, the Lockport Community leader who died last year after a battle with cancer.  Registration began at 10 A.M. at the Nelson Goehle (Widewaters) Marina Park and the walk started there along the canal walking path.   Shown below, in a picture provided by George Fritz, a portion of the walkers proceed west along the canal walk path in Lowertown.  That's Market Street to the left of the picture and Niagara Fiberboard (yellow building) on the opposite side of the canal.

For a registration fee of between $20 and $25 participants received food and beverage (see picture below) and a commemorative T-shirt.  Proceeds benefited the Barbara Ennis Foundation, a new Lockport charity which will provide funding to such efforts as organizations fighting pancreatic cancer.
