Any way you look at it, it's a Lockport beauty spot. From along Lower Market Street or Cold Springs Road...from the Erie Barge Canal...or from the air. "Widewaters" is one of our favorite Lockport destinations. The frame below was taken in the summer of 2000 by Lockport aerial photographer, Dick Gallagher. The new bridge had been opened earlier in the year (two lanes replaced the former one-lane bridge). The "back nine" for the Lockport Town & Country Club is visible off top left (south east of the canal). The camera is looking southeast and the "back nine" for the Lockport Town and Country Club is visible to the left/top of the photo. Just below that is the closed former R. L. Gaude Oil Company. The Goehle Marina is partly shown in the lower right. And then...off in south ----

Bogey at 1'clock! Those are two single engine air craft just coming into the picture over on the south side of the canal (Gallagher's plane is on the north side proceeding southeast).
