In February
of this year, I took a ski trip to Banff, Alberta, Canada (near Calgary). One of the
areas we skied was Lake Louise; a very beautiful place with excellent skiing. At the
top of Eagle ridge (el. 8300 ft), one of the peaks of the resort, was a location marker
(frame left). Attached to this post, were multiple arrow shaped signs marked with
city names and mileages to that location. You've probably seen this kind of thing
before, and so had I. Therefore, didn't pay it too much attention.
Well, skiing alone later in the day I passed the sign again, and could
have sworn I saw "Lockport" somewhere on it. I made it a point to return
up that part of the mountain to take a look. Sure enough, Lockport is famous on that
mountain top in the Canadian Rockies. I snapped a couple of photos, which I have
enclosed.
Cheers,
Jamie Hamilton
