Any of us who go back to the 1960's remember this landmark apartment building on the northwest corner of Cottage and Genesee Street. The building, owned by Frank Remick Sr., housed forty furnished apartments. There was no worry back in the first half of the 20th century about front yard parking or parking on the city right-of-way! I don't have the date on this photo but it must go into the 1920's. The building burned down in the 1960's and any of us who were in Lockport at that time remember viewing the ruins, if not the spectacular fire itself. Note how neatly it was maintained. Where did they all park?

On this site today is the Salvation Army Building, including the Lockport soup kitchen.
