Although a major Catholic Shrine, the expansive country
setting is open to those of all faiths. Many find numerous outside secluded spots
ideal for meditation and reflection.
Workers from nearby businesses often escape to the Shrine grounds to picnic and relax during their noon hours.
Some folks just spend hours walking the grounds and getting close to nature. A wide variety of floral, fowl, vegetation, and small animal life abound on the grounds and the surrounding woods.
With the wide expanse of areas for private meditations and the closeness of indoor facilities, minor shrines, a large outdoor Stations of The Cross, and the devotional areas inside the giant domed Basilica, Fatima USA makes an ideal spot for Christians to retreat for a day or longer. Although there are no overnight facilities normally available to the public on site, there are nearby campgrounds and many hotels in Lockport and Niagara Falls less than a half hour's drive away.
The Fatima Shrine is located at: 1023 Swan
Road in the Niagara County Township Of Lewiston
The Telephone Number if 716-754-7489
The grounds are open all daylight hours. Admission is always free.

From Niagara Falls:
Take Robert Moses Parkway north out of city to Pletcher Road exit and turn right to Route 18. Proceed south until you reach Swan Road. Turn east onto Swan Road at the large mahogany granite sign (above, a work of Lockport's Orleans Monument Company) and proceed about 1 mile to the Shrine.

day at this devotional center.
