The Lockport
Parks Pages

Lockport has almost thirty city parks!   Some are neat little neighborhood parks.
Several are mini sports facilities. Many are set up as "playgrounds with grass."
A couple offer swimming, picnic facilities, and special features.
Several are memorial masterpieces and historic cemeteries.
We can't detail them all---all at once here.  We'll add a new one
each month and rotate the attention around the city.

The monument is an architectural masterpiece!  Our pictures show views you've probably never seen so close!

Altro (Willow Park) - The End Of Closure Appears Near

It used to be Lockport's #2 park.   Then a long "improvement project" was mismanaged.  Now, it's almost done.

Children's Memorial Park - A Favorite For The Bride & Groom
An ordinary field of green has been upgraded by an outstanding volunteer effort.  It's now a Lockport Showplace!

Lockport's Memorial Tree Garden & Canal Walk
A beautiful walk along the canal, a memorial to late Lockportians, and another largely volunteer effort.

John Henry Park
This neighborhood organic garden park on the north side has a practical mission.  A fun site for gardeners!

Ida Fritz Park (West Avenue Park)

Across from the County Court House it used to have a beautiful fountain.  Now it has greenery, flowers  and a WW-1 cannon.

Rogers' Avenue Park

A small neighborhood park does more than double duty.  Used by neighborhood school and children year around!

Locust Park

This simple triangle of grass has a rich history.  Volunteers give the flowers lots of TLC.

Firefighter's Memorial
At The Big Bridge in downtown, the historic bell goes back to the beginnings of Lockport.

Cold Springs Cemetery

This massive memorial area has a history that goes back to The War Of 1812.  Beautifully maintained, dramatic views.

Glenwood Cemetery

The final resting grounds of Lockport Legends.  Our pictorial is like a beautiful history book.  You could spend a day here!
