It hasn't been on Market Street in a few years.  The jean shop aimed at the young female market is in the same building (the former Castle's Dairy) at East Avenue and Charles Street as affiliated-Jayne & Company.   Market Street Jean is running a closing sale.  (8/16/06)

Lockport Christian Church

Name change or new church?  The house of God on Locust Street Extension, at Hamm Road used to have a church name with "Joy" in it.  Now the building as a newly paved parking lot and the name, "Lockport Christian Church."  There is no phone listing so we don't know if it is just a change in marketing or an entirely new church.  (8/5/06)

Something New...In Something Old

Merry Mercantile has just opened in the former Lerch & Daly store on Main Street, downtown.  The establishment offers a potpourri of upscale used household goods.  Some may be called antiques.   An interesting spot to stop in and look at yesterday.  (8/2/06)

Looking in through the Front Door.  Merry Mercantile is a spot where classic furniture and antique lovers could spend hours (if the store had A/C).

Stars Designer Clothes Opens On Locust Street

The sign in the window says they're open  10AM till 8PM (most nights).  Right next to the old F&M Bank Building on Locust near Main.   Only problem is...when our Lockport Page Photographer stopped by Tuesday, August 1st about 3PM they were closed.  Perhaps it was too hot (it was about 95-degrees F) and the A/C inside was not connected yet?  The previous tenant was a tattoo parlor.  (8/2/06)

Tips For Submitting To Lockport Home Page

When submitting an item to the Lockport Home Page for publication, please make it easy for us to publish and insure accuracy.  These tips are especially important if you are looking for free publicity for your group:   Include a well composed press release (checked for spelling, and typos).  Do not use fancy fonts or "stationary."  Don't use ALL CAPS.  Make it easy for us to "copy and paste."  Photos are always a plus!  Use .jpg attachments to e-mail for photos.  Use a separate e-mail message to alert us that a photo is coming.  Photos and editorial material may also be sent by s-mail to P.O. Box 676, Lockport, NY  14095-0676.  Be sure to include contact information.  Don't just send us a photocopy of a publicity flyer that will need extensive review forcing us to write your press release.

                                      Lockport Home Page Pictures
Photographs taken by the Lockport Home Page photographer are often retained in computer file storage. Some are for sale.  Most are of a much finer quality and resolution than we can transmit over the web to your monitor.   We sell copies and/or rights to publishers, family, ad agencies, historians, lawyers, and businesses.   Usually many more pictures, other than those published, are available for each event.  Although prints of individual pictures may not be expensive, we do have a $25 minimum charge.  We can also take outdoor pictures around Niagara County to order.   Funds raised from any such sales go to offset part of our photography costs here at the Lockport Home Page.
